Reflection: Homestay
My homestay experience was just amazing because my host family not only speaks English, they were also very welcoming. They introduced me to a lot of Japanese dishes such as somen, the one shown in the picture above. My host mom also remember clearly my food preferences. Even if the family doesn't eat much sweets, my host mom would always buy flan or yogurt drinks because I like them. They even took me to an onsen, a public bath, which was a really unique experience.
My host mom was always extremely accommodating, helping me with any problems I had as I adjust to the Japanese household style.
If anyone ever interns in Japan, I definitely recommend (if you could) do a homestay because it's such a one of a kind experience.
